$10.48 OOP at IGA, Loblaws & Canadian Tire Including a New Booster Seat!

I have been trying really hard to cut back on my shopping this month as my stockpile is pretty well set. But I did go out and grab these deals today including doing the High 5 in the Morning Mail in Rebate Promo where you receive $25 in coupons from Tropicana/Quaker including several Free Product Coupons (FPCs)! I only spent $1 OOP (Out Of Pocket) for the FIVE items I needed to purchase for the rebate! Sweet!

Also, it worked out for me that Canadian Tire (CT) had the booster seat on sale. My in-laws were up from the States visiting last weekend and we ended up using their van when we all went places. And low and behold, we forgot to take out my daugher's booster seat when they headed back home. Oops! Since it's in Connecticut now - we needed to get a new one!

Supermarche PA - Week of 2/20/11 Produce Deals & BOGO Country Harvest

Supermarche PA is a local Montreal grocer with 3 locations including one in Downtown Montreal on du Fort. They often have great deals on produce - and this week is no exception.

Produce Deals @ Supermarche PA - 2/20-2/27/11:

3/$1 – English Cucumbers
$1.39/lb – Red Seedless Grapes
$1.39/lb – Red, Orange or Yellow Peppers
$.79/lb – Fuji Apples
5/$1 – Lemons
$1.79/lb – Asparagus
$.69 - Avocados

They also have a buy one, get one free sale on Country Harvest Bread or Bagels. There are also coupons that were available in a booklet in stores back in the Fall of 2010 with three coupons $.50 off 1, $1.50 off 2 and $2.50 off 3 Country Harvest Products. These would make this sale even better. The way PA operates their BOGO sales is they make each item half price so you don't have to buy 2, you can purchase just one of an item. For example, if the Country Harvest Bread is regularly $3.69, then it will be $1.85 per loaf for this sale. If you buy one, and use a $.50 off coupon, it makes it only $1.35 for the loaf of bread. Or better yet, buy 3 and freeze them, use your $2.50 off 3 coupon and get 3 loaves of bread for $3.05 or about $1.02 each!

My Mission is To Help You Save Money

I intend to help you save money on your monthly expenses. These expenses include but are not limited to: food (perisihable and non-perishable), toiletries, household items, and personal care items.  I'll help you do this by posting the weekly deals to be had at local stores including Metro, IGA, Loblaws, Maxi, Pharmaprix, Jean Coutu, Zellers, Walmart and more.  I will let you know the best places each week to purchase your meat/poultry and produce, and where you can score some great deals when using coupons. And I'll provide tips on how to maximize loyalty programs including the Air Miles and Pharmaprix Optimum Point Programs.

Being a frugal shopper does not mean you must sacrifice the ability to eat quality food or fresh food. It does not mean you will have to eat meals prepared out of the freezer or a box.  Nor will you be left eating tons of processed foods. It is possible to both eat healthy and save money. And I will show you how.

In our house, I do all the shopping, but my husband, Matthew, does all the cooking. He has an amazing passion and love for cooking. I am a very lucky man.  Fortunately, we balance each other out. He does the cooking, and I do the shopping and cleaning.  I intend to post my weekly shopping trips including how much I paid, the coupons I used, and how much I saved. At the same time, I plan to also post the meals we are eating as family.

Stay tuned for how we use weekly meal planning as a tool to save money and eat well!
